Keeping design sleek, on a budget, while maintaining Safety for an amazing senior is a challenge, and we like challenges.

We had to completely rebuild this deck's original footprint because it worked, then cover it with TimberTech's Solid Terrain decking.  We added a very simple handrail system with surface mounted "faux posts" that weren't built into the framing so it could be removed leaving only a few holes (owner didn't want a "true" ADA handrail system that made him look "old") and then we added lights to the outside of the deck so no one would walk off the this "ground level" deck at night and lighting up the steps with new level concrete landing for security.
